what if you can play a final fantasy adventure just like you nomally would but it can go online where diffrent people can come and go just like xbox live. They can be the other members of your party and performt he proper actions to keep eveyone alive and fighting, plus the fight wont stop untill all members are swoon. i dont mean like final fantasy 11 or 14 either, i meant like an old school RPG with random battles and the whole 9 yards.

i had that idea since i started to play ff 4 on the super nes aka part 2.

tell me watcha think.

If I am not mistaken, FF5 and FF9 allow a second player to control fighters during combat.  The is the closest a traditional FF has come to multiplayer (excluding FF11/14 and Crystal Chronicles).  Its just hard to implement turn-based gameplay into multiplayer cause after the battle if over, it only makes sense for one character to be moving around and progress the story.

That is why I think we see more action-type-RPGs with mutliplayer (Secret of Mana, Crystal Chronicles, etc.).

But I would love to experience an FF saga with a good friend all the way through with equal control sharing!

During early stages of FFXII they had the idea to allow other players to take over control of party members, but that idea had been thrown away duo to the limitations of the ps2.

So Square probably still have the idea of multi player options in there heads wink
