If you're a Dragon Quest fan, then there's little doubt that this week has been circled on your calendar for some time. That's because Dragon Quest VI is set to finally drop on the Nintendo DS. Considering Dragon Quest VI is the only core title in the series to never get a proper western localization until now, many gamers are eager to see what it's all about. Is it any good? How's the story? Is the gameplay standard for the series, or something new?
Most of those questions (and many more) will be answered in my forthcoming review. But just where is that review, and when you can you expect it?
Here's the deal. I've had the game for about a week, and have played 30 hours. Dragon Quest fans know that 30 hours is barely enough to scratch the surface in an old-school JRPG like Dragon Quest VI. So more time is needed. A lot more time, in fact. I'm shooting to have a review for you by week's end (though that date is flexible… after all, level-grinding is a serious affair). The review will live right here on this very article, so you can always just bookmark it and come back later to read my full impressions.
In the meantime, I can still give you some initial thoughts of the game, to give you an idea of what to expect.
