So i was searching the Web about what everyone wants and are talking about ....
The FFVII remake on ps3. This is what i found out, its an interview with Yoshinori Kitase that was taken the week's at GamesCom in Cologne.

'' Square's been giving a lot of its games the remake treatment in the past few years: Final Fantasy I, II, & IV, Chrono Trigger, to name a few. But the one game fans have been clamoring for to be remade for years - 1997's groundbreaking Final Fantasy VII - remains nowhere to be seen.

At GamesCom, VG247 posed the question to Final Fantasy XIII's Motomu Toriyama and Yoshinori Kitase: "Will we ever see a remake of Final Fantasy VII?"

Their answer, through a translator:

There's no official project that's up and running for a remake of Final Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, 'If we did it it would be like this or like that.'

So, they do talk about it, but there's no official project yet.

On the other hand, as they pointed out, the game was re-released on PSN not too long ago, so fans could get their angsty pseudo-cyberpunk fix that way instead.

At this point, honestly, I just kind of want Square to remake Final Fantasy VII to make the fans stop asking about a remake of Final Fantasy VII already. I guess some things never die, no matter how much they ought to. ''

So there you have it, Square Enix never lies either  :Smiley

They've remade everything else so many times (10 points if you know how many times they've released FFIV) and have done so many spin offs of FFVII I don't see why they wouldn't remake it. They know it would make serious cash, which seems to be the primary reason for all the re-releases of the others. Maybe they are waiting to ply it as a launch title for the PS4.

Probably 4 or 5 times, nothing compared to FFI though who must have been re-released over 10 times by now.

But why would they need to remake it. I don't see why making it available on the PSN is enough, a good re-release only adjusts the graphics anyway. And the graphics don't make a game wink

And graphics would be the main reason. They got so many people salivating with the redone intro... I don't know how much they would have to spend in production cost to redo the graphics and animation, but I'm sure they would make it up in sales.
There's also the question about how far do you take the graphic overhaul; do you make it all on par with the existing cut scenes, or do you try to take game play and cut scenes all up to the graphic quality of AC?

I found some news. Yes sorry it is in Dutch. But what it comes down to is this:

Kitase says: "As long as people are asking about a remake, i will keep thinking about it. It would be an unique expercience to remake FFVII

New quote's found on the remake of FFVII

Quote
"Right now we don't have a clear direction, but many fans have requested we remake Final Fantasy VII. We're going to explore the possibility - whether or not we're going to do it, if we're going to do it, and the platform."

If we have the necessary facilities and had a good developmentspace to make the remake of Final Fantasy VII within one year, we would like to do it."

Guys, believe me when I say this: You don't want FFVII remade. They will most likely change LOTS of things and the final result will probably make you simply feel that the original was better.  Of course, in the very slim chance that they only update grafix and sound quality, fix some issues here and there but leave most of it untouched, then it would be awesome. But knowing Square-Enix, they would make Cloud his 'AC Version' from the beginning, personality-wise.

And I hate Cloud AC.
