First what is E3 ?
The history of the E3 began with its creation in 1995 and has continued through the latest expo in 2009. The conference was known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo from 1995 to 2006. In 2007 and 2008, the conference was known as the E3 Media and Business Summit. The 2009 event's name was reverted back to the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
This years is on the 15th of the month but there has been a great review of last years shows from the main guys I thought you would be interested in.
Sony Review1) These Sony people predict, plan and promise a lot of stuff, going for an A in ambition, surely. Too ambitious, as you'll see.
2) Nothing beats the accuracy of a live game demo for showing something that will prove to be true to the hype. Sony had many games played live on stage at E3 last year, and all that have been released have played at least as well as shown.
3) It's the year of the PlayStation every year in Sony land, it seems.
Microsoft Review1) Release dates that appeared in trailers were more solid than release dates muttered on stage.
2) Things that were called exclusive had only about a 50-50 chance of really being exclusive.
3) Man, that Project Natal sure looks like it can do amazing things!
Nintendo Review1) These Nintendo people declare release dates the way I declare that I am awake... you can take it to the bank!
2) Motion control comments are always kinda fuzzy, but not as potentially misleading as trailers that show motion control devices in action.
3) They just might be right about that Vitality Sensor.
(what shit...)
