This is how we are going to proceed! You add the Screenshot of your own new accomplishment (starting from today Cheesy...no cheating!) in any FF game (just Final Fantasy Series), "Link to the Screenshots Gallery", after that you post in here, untitle your achievement and give the details about your successful strategy. Share your triumphs gamers!

Yiazmat vanquished...finally! (4th June 2010,11:34 am)

Informations about the Beast:
Yiazmat, the Ultimate Elite Mark from Final Fantasy XII. One of the series' most difficult superbosses.
Level: 73; HP: 50,112,254 ;Absorbs Holy; and weak to Dark. He is found at the Coliseum at the Ridorana Cataract. The Boss becomes very annoying after reaching 50% of his HP, but the party has the ability to leave the area and save, buy items etc and resume afterwards. When Yiazmat's HP is about at 9 - 10 bars left, he will boost his damage and cast Reflectga on all members (which means first thing to do is to use Dispel on all characters, before starting healing or Yiazmat will be fully recovered). His most annoying attack is Death Strike which casts Instant Death on one party member. It has a 50% chance of missing if the character is under Shell, it hits even if you are trying to avoid his physical attacks by hiding in one of the exit paths  tongue .

Informations about the characters and their equipements:
My Characters had levels varying from 60 to 87, the main party was equipped with Mesamune+Genji gloves ; Solaris ; Fomalhaut+dark bullets/Shots , used also Maximiliens, as for accessories I used mostly Rubans, Genji Gloves, Bubble Belts (doubles max HP) and Sage's Ring (it reduces MP cost of spells by half, aborbs holy elemental attacks); the most useful gambits to use are: Ally:Any=Chronos Tear ;Ally:Any=Arise;Ally:Any=Remedy; Ally:Any=Shellga ; Ally:Any=Hastega ; Self=Bravery ; since the dragon's attacks do cause Stop and Petrify.
When Yiazmat has only 4 bars of HP left he becomes very furious, using death strikes more often repeatedly and comboing up to 12 times... at that moment I changed gambits to using  Self=Reverse on the characters..but that won't keep them from being KOed  tongue.

It was an awesome long epic fight! 12 Rounds, that lasted about 7 hours, each weekend I played some for about 30 to 45 minutes. And I had to go to Balfonheim port at one point of the battle, as I run short of remedies and chrono tears. So I took my time and enjoyed every bit of it! was fun Smiley

Here it is in English!  tongue

Information about my characters:

For the most part of the battle I used Vaan (knight), Ashe (White Mage) and Penelo (Hunter). All of my characters were lv67-69. Here's the equipment:
Vaan - Tournesol, Grand Helm, Grand Armor, Hermes Sandals
Ashe - Save the Queen, Circlet, Lordly Robes, Sage's Ring
Penelo - Yagyu Darkblade, Dueling Mask, Brave Suit, Jackboots

I buffed Vaan with Bravery, Penelo had Bravery through the Brave Suit. Everyone had Protect and Ashe had Faith. Ashe also buffed everyone with Bubble. I let Vaan and Penelo use Bacchus's Wine to gain Berserk and deal huge damage (Vaan was dealing 27k with full health and Penelo around 18k). All was going smoothly until 50%. I swapped equipment to Gendarmes, Ribbons and Power Amlet/Quasimodo Boots against the occasional White Breaths and Cyclones. After 50% the damage output got reduced a bit and Yiazmat started hitting a bit harder. I had to flee at 18 million cause my party got almost wiped. After he hit critical HP it started getting a bit tough. He started doing some crazy damage and spamming Deathstrike. I had to change my strategy a bit. Switched the accessories to Bubble Belts and kept casting Curaja all the time. Vaan and Penelo were still berserked. I had to leave a few times to save and re-buff. Every time I went back I was fully buffed with the starting equipment. After someone dies I would go back to Bubble Belts. When he hit 5 million I'd sacrifice Balthier to avoid Cyclone and Reflectga and then use my original party again. All in all, it took around 4,5 hours to do this at lv69.

Here's one screenshot where I got lucky. First Bombshell and look at the drop! It was useless, though. I already had one from Cerobi.
